EARTH DAY Event - April 22, 2008

Is your school getting ready for a spring composting program?

This is your chance to order your compost bins for a low price.

Did you know that an estimated 25% of an average household’s waste is kitchen scraps and yard trimmings? Help your school and your local homeowners (as a fundraiser) reduce their waste, create wonderful composted “gold” and raise some money for the school at the same time.  Either schools can buy individual bins for their school or they can have a fundraiser event selling compost bins.

Individual sale:

If you would like to order compost bins (each bin comes with a free 31 page booklet) or kitchen pails for your school and not participate in the compost bin sale you can order them by filling out this order form and send it back to us before April 1, 2008.   Compost Bins are $40  (retail value $85) and the Kitchen Pails are $8.00. 

As a Fundraiser event:

The compost bin sale offers schools the opportunity to raise money while providing an easy to use backyard compost bin at a low price! Schools can sell the bins for $40 each, or use the sale as a fundraiser and raise the price to $45, thus earning $5 for every bin sold!  You can sell the kitchen pails for $10 (earning $2.00 per bin sold).  If you decide to participate in the fundraising event, each school will receive a free composting bin and kitchen pail for display purposes.

To participate in the the fundraiser event, contact Jan Carter at the NRRA office; 736-4401 or email her at jcarter@nrra.net.   She will send you a packet of information with promotional materials and tips, an order form to receive personalized fliers for your school,  sample press releases, as well as bin order forms.  

Orders will be accepted until Tuesday, April 1, 2008. 

Delivery of compost bins expected the week of April 14, 2008 – in time for Earth Day - April 22nd, 2008.
